Advisory Neighborhood Commission Meeting Preview

ANC2E will meet tonight, Tuesday, at 6:30 at Georgetown Visitation.

Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC2E) meets this evening to discuss a variety of local topics ranging from proposed Bikeshare locations, to the Nation's Triathalon to development projects.

Agenda Items of Note:

  • Nation’s Triathlon – September 11, 2011
At the January meeting the ANC approved the DC Triathalon road closures, but now the Nation's Triathalon, organized by the same group, is up for review. The events were partially the impetus for a new ANC standard for approving sporting events. The ANC passed a resolution to look at the type of road closures, charitable donations, advance notice, and inconvenience to neighbors of future events after the the commission questioned the money-making nature of the Triathalon. Organizer Charles Brodsky took some heat from the commission at a previous meeting because of the for-profit status of his race and later recused himself from ABC matters related to Georgetown.
  • Dumbarton Oaks at 1700 Wisconsin Ave. will come before the ANC for concept review of a rear addition and alterations to the historic property.
  • A new pizza place, Fuhgetaboutit NY Pies, is coming to 3347 M St. and is up for review by the ANC. The concept review includes a proposed roof deck, which will likely be of concern to the ANC. Georgetown Metropolitan has a write-up on the new pizzeria here.
