Around Town: Story Time, Eggstravaganza at Georgetown Public Library

This weekend we joined Georgetown Public Library's annual Spring celebration for story time, sing-alongs and an egg decorating party.

The sun made an appearance this holiday weekend, but arrived too late for the Georgetown Public Libary's annual egg hunt. Cold weather and rain forced the library to cancel Saturday morning's outdoor hunt, but librarians made sure that indoor festivities continued.

"This has been a tradition for decades," said Children's Librarian Maria Harris, who led egg decorating activities and kept children smiling with songs and a lively story time. "Over the years the same elements have been part of our spring celebration, but it's changed slightly...this year we introduced stickers and egg decorations for the first time."

For those who missed the event, the Georgetown Public Library hosts several story times and other activities each month that are free and open to the public, you can view their schedule here.
