Buck Found Wounded By An Arrow In An Urban DC Neighborhood

Washington Humane Society searches for the person who shot it.

The Washington Humane Society Law Enforcement discovered a White-tailed deer buck that had been shot in the shoulder with an arrow in a residential southwest neighborhood on Dec. 20.

The buck had been wounded for about a week before the Humane Society found him and was severely injured, a Washington Humane Society notice said.

The buck had to be euthanized, and now the Humane Society is offering $1,000 to anyone with information that could help law enforcement find the person or people responsible for shooting the animal, the notice said.

The Humane Society believes the buck was part of a herd of deer that visits the neighborhood regularly, the notice said.

Anyone with information should contact Washington Humane Society Law Enforcement by email or call (202) 723-5730.
