Sunday's high of 34 degrees made for one of the coldest November days in decades, and a storm is expected to hit the area Tuesday morning.

The storm won't likely bring snow, according to the National Weather Service, but expect sleet in the morning and rain throughout the day.

Slick roads are a possibility this week, and D.C. Metropolitan Police Department gives some tips for drivers in winter weather conditions.

"Remember that when it rains, sleets or snows, traveling in your vehicle will take longer than usual," MPD advises. "Getting to your final destination safely is the number one priority."

MPD suggests keeping a safe distance from other cars, giving yourself extra time and space to stop, maintaining a safe speed, paying attention to road conditions and listening to weather updates to plan the best times for travel.
