Disney On Ice Visits Georgetown

The Disney on Ice crew made a pit stop at the Washington Harbour ice rink to promote their latest show: Treasure Trove.

Children crowded Georgetown's Washington Harbour ice rink Tuesday for the chance to take a picture with Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

The Disney On Ice crew promoted their latest production, Treasure Trove, with picture opportunities alongside the famous Disney duo and ice skating insight from the show’s performers.

“I really liked skating with Thomas,” Isabel Kreidler, 7, shyly giggled when recounting her time on the ice with the Disney instructor. “I held his hands and we spun!”

The rink is not new to the Kreidlers since their father, Jim Kreidler, works in the offices looking down on the ice. Though this was their second time frequenting the rink, the children were nothing short of excited.

“We like this rink,” Cynthia Laux-Kreidler, Isabel's mother, said. “[Isabel] even got to skip piano and Spanish lessons to come out here today.”

Additionally, Georgetown’s Farmers Fishers Bakers provided hot chocolate for the children.

“D.C. is obviously a very political town, but that does not mean there are not families here,” Sara Casas-Silva, tour coordinator from Disney on Ice presents Treasure Trove, told Patch. “We will always stop at the Verizon Center once a year.”

Disney on Ice Treasure Trove starts production Wednesday at the Verizon Center and will run through Monday. Times and ticket prices vary.
