25th Anniversary Reconciling Service

Dumbarton will celebrate its 25th anniversary as a Reconciling Ministry (welcoming gays and lesbians) with its annual Reconciling Sunday Celebration on Sunday, February 19. At 10 a.m., former pastor Rev. Mary Kraus will lead Adult Education on Dumbarton’s history of LGBT advocacy. The 11 a.m. Worship Celebration will center around the theme “Moving Forward” and feature a new hymn written by congregation member Thew Elliott. Rev. Mary Kay Totty will preside over Holy Communion with Rev. William "Chip" Aldridge; a Mardi Gras Pancake Brunch will follow the service.

Guest preacher will be Sean Delmore, assistant minister at Connexion UMC in Somerville, MA, where he is working with a dynamic team to revitalize an urban church in the heart of one of the most densely populated cities in the United States. A transgendered person, he also is the program coordinator of the MIT Rainbow Lounge, offering support and advice for gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, and transgender students.
