Blessing of the Animals at Franciscan Monastery
Bring your pets to the Franciscan Monastery for a Blessing of the Animals by the Franciscan friars.
People of all faiths are welcome. Each pet receives a pet medal, a small scroll with the text of the blessing and a copy of the story of St. Francis.
The blessing is held annually on or near St. Francis' feast day, which is Oct. 4, in honor of this patron saint of animals and the environment.
