Christmas Eve

5:00 p.m. Choral prelude will be performed by the Choir of the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart. Msgr. Walter Rossi, rector of the National Shrine, will be the celebrant and homilist of a children’s Mass with pageant.

9:00 p.m. Musical meditations on the Nativity will be performed by carillonneur Robert Grogan and organist Russell Weismann.

10:00 p.m. Choral meditations on the Nativity will be offered by the National Shrine’s Choir and Chamber Orchestra in the Great Upper Church.  The 10:00 p.m. meditations will be broadcast live on EWTN and the Catholic Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio.

10:30 p.m. Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, the new Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, will be the principal celebrant and homilist of the Solemn Vigil Mass of Christmas Eve in the Great Upper Church. The Mass will be broadcast live on EWTN and the Catholic Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio (Ch. 159) and XM Satellite Radio (Ch.117).
