French Market Features Macarons, French Braids and More

The 10th annual Georgetown French Market takes over Book Hill starting at 10 a.m. Friday

Book Hill will be filled with fashion, art, food and other French-themed delights for the 10th annual open-air French Market in Georgetown. The market spans a section of Wisconsin Avenue from P Street to Reservoir Road, NW.

The market is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

You can get your hair done, gratuitement, at the “French Braid Bar,” courtesy of Ipsa for Hair. Stylists will offer French, fishtail, Dutch and other braid styles in the front garden area of Nectar Skin Bar.

Wander over to Macaron Bee where they have been prepping for days to have enough treats for the French Market. Check out their new spring flavors like Matcha Green Tea and Cherry blossom. Or enjoy macaron ice cream sandwiches at 20 percent off.

According to the Georgetown Business Improvement District, "restaurants such as Patisserie Poupon, Café Bonaparte, Clyde's and PAUL Bakery will hit the streets to nourish shoppers, grilling up French merguez sausages, filling sweet and savory crepes and serving fresh French pastries."

Boutiques will offer discounts and a range of French-themed items. Stop by The French Laundry for a Vintage Painter’s Step Ladder or A Mano for pottery and home goods. 

Bring the entire family Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to the TD Bank parking lot for arts and crafts with Alliance Francaise, art demos from Art Soiree, and live performances from Laissez Foure and Jeremy the Musicador.
