Garbage Day Gets Moved To Saturday For Many In Georgetown

Trash pickup delayed due to holidays.

If Friday is your regular garbage day, DPW will be picking up on Saturday for the next two weeks.

The District of Columbia Department of Public Works announced that trash and recycling collection was suspended on Christmas and will be on New Year's Day.

After a break from trash collection, DPW has resumed pickup but is now on a delayed schedule.

If you have a Wednesday garbage day, your trash will be picked up today. Thursday pickup will be moved to Friday, and Friday pickup to Saturday.

Because of Christmas and New Year's Day, Friday trash pickup will be moved to Saturday for the next two weeks.

DPW advises putting trash and recycling containers out before 6:30 p.m. on Friday night and removing them by 8 p.m. on Saturday.
