Georgetown Dash Unleashes Competitors Tonight

The scavenger hunt will take over Georgetown from 6 to 9 p.m.

Teams of Washingtonians will take to the streets of Georgetown Thursday night for a scavenger hunt, aptly named "." The event benefits Girls on the Run DC (GOTR DC), a nonprofit "dedicated to character development for young girls."

The event is co-sponsored by the Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID), City Sports Georgetown, and of course GOTR DC.

The starting line at City Sports (3338 M St. NW) will feature a DJ and gift bags for participants. The race begins at 7 p.m.

Georgetown businesses will hold the clues and participants will complete either physical or mental challenges before moving to the next destination.

After running around Georgetown's busy commercial district for an hour, participants will meet at the finish-line party at Mr. Smith's at 8 p.m.

According to a press release the grand prize is valued at "$2,000, including a one-month gym membership, two weeks of group training, and gift cards to Georgetown stores including The North Face, Sports Zone, and Athleta."
