Georgetown Homecoming Weekend: Traffic Advisory, Full Schedule of Events and More

Georgetown Homecoming Weekend is Sept. 27 through Sept. 29.

Georgetown University is advising neighbors to expect increased traffic on streets near the university for Homecoming Weekend activities Sept. 27 through Sept. 29.

Of particular note is the homecoming football game Saturday when Georgetown University takes on Princeton University. The tailgate for the game runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The game begins at 2 p.m.

According to a notice from Georgetown: 

"Our neighbors should expect additional activity around campus this weekend for Georgetown Homecoming. Homecoming will bring many alumni back to campus for events throughout the weekend, including a tailgate and football game on Saturday afternoon. Additional traffic and activity is likely. If neighbors have concerns, please call the Helpline at(202) 687-8413."

Additionally, an in an email, the Office of Neighborhood Life at Georgetown University told neighbors there would be police patrols to help with noise and traffic:

"Saturday, we will have a SNAP car on patrol from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and 3 cars from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. MPD's Reimbursable Detail will be on duty from 2 p.m. to 8pm and again from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m."
