Get Out: Puzzle Festival, Campfire Stories, Esprit de Noel and More

1. Second Annual Arlington Puzzle Festival

When/Where: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Arlington Central Library

Why Go: How cool is this? From the coordinator: The Second Annual Arlington Puzzle Festival is "a celebration of words, logic, numbers and thinking and a place to meet other puzzle fanatics in a friendly, fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Crossword puzzles will be provided by New York Times puzzlemaster Will Shortz. Sudoku puzzles will be provided by U.S. and world champion Thomas Snyder."

Cost: Free!

2. Esprit de Noel

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, 1524 35th St. NW, Washington.

Why Go: Get a jump on your holiday shopping and take a chance on
pearl white 2013 Mini Cooper!

Cost: Free to attend.

3. Coyote Stories Campfire

When/Where: 6 p.m. Saturday at Long Branch Nature Center, 625 S. Carlin Springs Road in Arlington

Why Go: From the nature center: "Coyote, the trickster of Native American stories, is Arlington’s new dog in town! Join us for stories and facts about this interesting new resident. All ages. Register adults and children; children must be accompanied by a registered adult. The whole family is invited to join us at the Long Branch Amphitheater for lots of old-fashioned fun! This engaging program will be filled with entertaining activities, which may include stories, special animal guests, games, songs and, of course, treats like s’mores."

4. War Horse at the Kennedy Center

When/Where: 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Kennedy Center (2700 F St., NW)

Why Go: This play has won five Tony Awards, including Best Play. According to the Kennedy Center website, "This powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness that is currently playing to packed houses in London, New York, and Toronto."

Cost: Limited availability, prices vary.

5. GO VOTE

When/Where: Saturday is your last chance to vote early — unless you think there won't be any lines on Election Day, which is Tuesday. Voting starts at 8:30 a.m.
