Patch is coming to the rescue. We've picked out some of the best events around Arlington and D.C. for your done-work-outta-here time. Is it 5 p.m. on Friday yet?

2. New York City Ballet

Where/When: The Kennedy Center Opera House, 2700 F St., NW, Washington. Thursday, Friday and Sunday, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: If Black Swan picqued your interest in behind-the-scenes lives of New York City's premier ballerinas, then you won't want to miss your chance to see them perform in your own backyard. The New York City Ballet will be performing "three mixed repertory programs of Balanchine black and white ballets with the New York City Ballet Orchestra."

Pricing: Tickets range from $25 to $85.

3.

Where/When: 3134 Ellicott St. NW, Washington. Friday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: The house will be open for public tours on Saturday but ticket holders to the preview party will get a sneak peek on Friday night. This year's home is a 1925 12,000-square-foot English Country Tudor and will be sure to inspire smaller-scale design projects in your own home.

Pricing: Tickets are $20 per person.

4.

Where/When: 2909 South 16th Street, Arlington. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Watching people climbing trees may not be exactly what you had in mind over the weekend, but the annual MAC-ISA tree climbing championship will surely be more fun for the whole family than watching the Master's on TV.  The makes it sound like a fascinating activity - there will be speed climbing and "Climbers may work more than 100 feet above the ground, suspended from ropes, operating chain saws and removing limbs that can weigh hundreds of pounds." Think of it as a great way to get outdoors - off the putting green.

Pricing: Open to the public.

5. Arlington Home Show and Expo

Where/When: Walter Reed Community Center, 2909 South 16th Street, Arlington. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: There will be more than 60 vendors at this home expo show and free classes are being offered on a range of topics from "How to finance your home improvement project" to "Weatherizing your home."

Pricing: Open to the public.

Did we fail to mention an awesome event in your neck of the woods? Probably. Be sure to let us (and everyone else) know about it in the comments section.
