Get Out: Patch's Pick-and-Choose Weekend Planner

If you're itching to make some awesome weekend plans, consult our list of best bets before you head out on the town.

It’s Thursday. The weekend is so close you can almost taste it. Downside? You’ve got no idea what to do during your two days of freedom.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We've picked out some of the best events around D.C. and Arlington for your done-work-outta-here time. Is it 5 p.m. on Friday yet?

Where/When: , 3125 M St. NW, Georgetown. Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Friday night poker meets Sunday morning brunch. There's something for everyone at this event. Eggs, bacon, jewelry, a Belgian beer tasting and several poker tournament prizes. The proceeds of this event will be donated to the nonprofit, FAIR Fund, a group trying to prevent human trafficking.

Pricing: Tickets are $100 at the door or $50 for non-poker players.

2. Boston Symphony Orchestra Performs at The Kennedy Center

Where/When: The Kennedy Center Concert Hall, 2700 F St., NW, Washington. Saturday, 4 p.m.

Why Go: One of the nation's premier - if not the premier - symphony orchestras will be performing selections from Hadyn, Bartok and Beethoven at this Saturday afternoon concert.

Pricing: Tickets range from $48 to $125.

Where/When: , 3000 M St. NW, Georgetown. Friday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Why not kick your weekend off an afternoon early? Master Sommelier Kathy Morgan will be offering up some of the tricks of her trade in hopes that you, too, can become a savvy wine drinker.

Pricing: One class is $100. Discounted rates are available for tickets to multiple classes in this five-part series.

Where/When: Clarendon Fitness, 3100 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: So the last thing you want to think about during the weekend is working out, right? (Or maybe that's just me.) Anyway, at this Open House, there's no pressure to get your sweat on - but free classes will be open to visitors. And there will be free giveaways! Think of it this way: You can take home all the information you need to make the best intentions of really getting to the gym on Monday.

Pricing: Free and open to all.

Where/When: Arlington Traditional School, 855 N Edison St., Arlington. Friday, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: OPEN International is a 501-c nonprofit organization that is raising money to help build a school in Senegal. Donations from this student concert will help build a school that is currently "serving nearly 100 deserving children who would not otherwise receive an education."

Pricing: Donations encouraged.
