1. Brave Movie Showing on the Lawn at Georgetown University

When/Where: 7:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday on the Copley Lawn at Georgetown University.
Why Go: "Brave," the first film from Pixar with a female protagonist, was a hit this summer in theaters. It offers fun for families, just read our movie reviewer's take on the film!
Price: Free!

2. Crystal City Diamond Derby

When/Where: 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday at 2345 Crystal Drive in Crystal City
Why Go: See a parking garage transformed into an urban cycling course — complete with spectator seating and other amenities. See amatuers and daredevils, children and adults face off in various events — including an obstacle course. And  
Price: Free!

3. Dedication of the New Pipe Organ at St. John's

When/Where: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Episcopal Church Georgetown, 3240 O St. NW.
Why Go: The new pipe organ by Casavant Fréres is now installed in the newly restored chancel. Saint John's choir will sing festive hymns and anthems to celebrate the new organ and the Feast of Saint Michael and All Angels. There will be a reception in Blake Hall.
Price: Free.

4. Festival Latinoamericano

When/Where: 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Kenmore Middle School, 200 S. Carlin Springs Road, Arlington.
Why Go: Celebrate authentic and diverse Hispanic food, music and dancing in Arlington. Sample Central and South American cuisine, enjoy Afro-Colombian and Panamanian dancers, and listen to a Mexican mariachi band. Click here to see a photo gallery from last year's festival.

5. The Undy 5000

When/Where: 7 to 10 a.m. Sunday in Rock Creek Park, 4850 Colorado Ave. NW.
Why Go: The Undy 5000 5K Run/Walk to fight colon cancer returns to Washington for the third consecutive year. Runners wear underwear over the running gear (or as their running gear) to raise awareness and funds to fight colon cancer. For cancer survivors, it brings levity to a life-changing illness.
Price: Registration closed Thursday, but you can cheer in the crowd for free.
