Library Offers E-Reader Class
DC Public Libraries has books that can be downloaded for free.
If you received an e-reader for Christmas — like a Nook, Kindle or iPad — the Georgetown Neighborhood Library has a class on downloading digital materials from the library catalogue this Saturday.
The DC Public Library system offers e-books and other digital media through its website. If you have a library card you can temporarily download best-selling fiction and nonfiction, classic literature, self-help books and more.

"The process can be a little confusing for beginners, so we are setting aside the entire first Saturday of 2013 to walk you through checking out and downloading library e-books and other digital materials, plus to answer any questions you may have about digital library lending."
Residents can stop by the Georgetown Neighborhood Library anytime on Saturday for a tutorial. You will need your library card number and your e-reader device. The email also advises that you bring any passwords related to your e-reader account:
"For example, if you have a Kindle, make sure you know your Amazon account information, and if you have an iPad, make sure you know your Apple ID. Nook owners should also bring a laptop to download required free software."
The library, located at 3260 R St. NW, is open Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
