NBC-4 Announces Retirement of Longtime Reporter
Consumer reporter to leave in the spring.
Who will DC metro viewers turn to now, when they need help with scams, defective products and problems with local businesses?
Longtime consumer reporter Liz Crenshaw is leaving NBC-4, the station announced Monday. She'll be on-air until the end of May before retiring to spend more time with her family.
Crenshaw has been with the TV station since 1980, working first as an assignment editor before becoming a producer in the station's Consumer Unit. She transitioned into her on-camera role in 1993, where she's been comfortable ever since.
“It’s been a great privilege and a pleasure to be a part of the NBC4 family for more than 30 years," she said in a story about the announcement, posted on the station's Web site.

"My commitment to consumer reporting and looking out for the people of DC, Maryland and Virginia has been – not just a job – but a passion," she said. "Now it’s time for new explorations and time away from the camera."
Crenshaw's plans call for getting in more time with her family and she said she looks "forward with great excitement to what lies ahead."
