Powerball Jackpot Climbs to 6th Largest in U.S. Lottery History

Are you going to play on Wednesday for a chance to win $400 million? Your odds are 1 in 175 million.

By Scott Bernarde

The Powerball jackpot is estimated to be $400 million when the next drawing is held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, with a $227.8 million one-time cash payout.

The total would give this drawing the sixth-highest annuity jackpot in American lottery history. That could be enough to buy a tropical island far away from this winter's endless snow and cold.
