Presidents Day in Georgetown: What's Open and What's Not

Save yourself some time and plan accordingly.

In honor of Presidents Day several local entities will be closed today.

District Agencies, including DC Public Schools and the Neighborhood Library are closed.

Trash and recycling collections and parking enforcement are suspended. The Department of Public Works will make Tuesday and Friday trash collections on Wednesday and Saturday. Recyclables and yard waste will be collected on Saturday.

Metro opened at 5 a.m. today. Shuttles are available at Metro Center and L'Enfant Plaza to bridge the gap in service due to track repairs at Smithsonian and Federal Triangle stations.

The Blue Line is running from Franconia-Springfield to Metro Center and between the Largo Town Center and L’Enfant Plaza stations. The Orange Line runs from the Vienna-Fairfax/GMU to Metro Center and between the New Carrollton and L’Enfant Plaza Metrorail stations. Leave extra time for your commute.
