TRAFFIC ALERT: Road Closures in and Around Georgetown

There's a lot of work ahead.

From the DDOT:

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting a series of bridge and tunnel safety inspections throughout the District’s highway network from Monday, November 4 to Thursday, November 7, 2013.  These activities will require single lane closures and take place during off-peak hours between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting.

 The required lane closures and inspection activities are scheduled to occur as follows:

Connecticut Avenue NW Tunnel Under Dupont Circle; and

Q Street NW Bridge Over Connecticut Avenue

There will be alternating right and left lane closures of northbound Connecticut Avenue NW under Dupont Circle and Q Street NW, followed by alternating right and left lane closures of southbound Connecticut Avenue under Q Street.

 K Street NW Near Whitehurst Freeway Ramp

There will be a right lane closure of westbound K Street NW near the Whitehurst Freeway ramp.

K Street NW Near Whitehurst Freeway Ramp

There will be a right lane closure of westbound K Street NW near the Whitehurst Freeway ramp, followed by a right lane closure of eastbound K Street NW.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn motorists as they approach the areas.

Motorists are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
