Tree Boxes on O Street to See Repairs

Residents are warned to remove anything they would like to save from their tree boxes

If you live on the 3600 block of O Street, it's time to clear out your tree boxes- save your stone squirrel ornament or your guerrilla garden basil. The is set to begin work on the sidewalks, which will also impact the tree boxes.

Betsy Emes, the chair of Trees for Georgetown, emailed the neighborhood forum about the impending changes.

The street tree boxes will be enlarged to standard size where possible, though some will remain the same size if space is an issue.  In some area new tree boxes will be added and in others current boxes will be removed.
