Tudor Place Garden Party Raises $250,000 for Preservation and Education

Supporters of the historic Georgetown estate gathered for a garden party and to honor a descendant of the original family behind the home for his staunch support.

Supporters of Tudor Place gathered Wednesday for the 21st annual spring garden party on the historic Georgetown estate.

The home's largest fundraising event, the garden party accounts for nearly one fifth of operating costs and this year brought in a quarter of a million dollars.

The gala was co-chaired by Page Evans and Colman Rackley Riddell.

The event, which featured dinner and drinks, honored attorney Phillips S. Peter, a descendant of the Peter family, who first built the estate in the 1800s.
