Weekend Guide: Boston Marathon Fundraiser, Green Expo, and More

The weekend is here! How are you going to spend it in Georgetown, Arlington and beyond?

1. 10th Annual Georgetown French Market

When/Where: Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m on the sidewalks between P Street and Reservoir Road in Georgetown.

Why Go: The 10th annual open-air market features deals on unique fashion, delightful French cuisine and family-friendly entertainment.

Price: Free to attend.

2. Bandylions Boston Marathon Fundraiser

When/Where: Saturday starting at 10 p.m. at the Abbey in St. Arnold's Mussel Bar in Cleveland Park, 3433 Connecticut Ave. NW.

Why Go: Enjoy live music from local band, The Bandylions, as they perform their last DC show Saturday and donate their payment to the newly established The One Fund Boston. Two of the band members are Boston College alums.

When/Where: Noon to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at George Mason University’s Founders Hall at 3351 Fairfax Drive

Why Go: Ahead of Earth Day, learn about energy conservation, sustainable food solid waste reduction, eco-friendly transportation, green home remodeling, sustainable landscaping, and healthy homes, according to an announcement about the event. There will also be a bid on a rain barrel painted on by Arlington public high school students. The winner of the Arlington “Green Patriot” award will also be announced.

Price: Free, but those interested are asked to register online

4. Dave Coulier to Perform in Rosslyn

When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Rosslyn’s Artisphere, 1101 Wilson Blvd.

Why Go: See Dave Coulier, famous for playing Uncle Joey on the sitcom "Full House," live at the Artisphere. No word yet on whether his Bullwinkle impression will resurface.

Price: Tickets are $30

5. Family Celebration of Earth Day at Tudor Place

When/Where: Sunday 1:00 pm–3:00 pm at Tudor Place, 1644 31st St. NW, Washington, DC

Why Go: This family-friendly activity features a scavenger hunt, painting flower pots and planting them with seeds from an historic Georgetown garden and  eco-friendly refreshments. 

Price: $5 for member children, $8 for nonmember children, $5 for adults.
