Brides against Breast Cancer, a national non-profit that supports cancer patients and their families, is bringing its "Nationwide Tour of Gowns," to the Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington on Sep. 14. Local brides are invited to shop for new and used wedding dresses in all styles and sizes, and all of the proceeds will go to the non-profit organization. All the President's Pups, a dog-friendly walking tour of historic Mount Vernon, is returning to the DC area every Saturday through the end of October. Guests and their four-legged friends will walk a 1.25 mile path around Mount Vernon with stops at five historic sites on the property. The event, inspired by George Washington's love of dogs, is a way for history buffs to enjoy the weather with their pets.
