Whole Foods Market to Hold '5% Day' for Public Schools
Local grocery store will make a donation to DC Public Schools to help them start the new year with a bang.
It's rare to find a kid who is enthusiastic about summer ending and school beginning again. But thanks to a local Georgetown grocery store, four D.C. Public Schools will be receiving a nice boost to begin the new year.
Whole Foods Market Georgetown will be holding a '5% Day' on Wednesday, Sep. 18 to benefit public schools in the area. On that Wednesday, the store will donate five percent of its earnings to four DCPS schools: Hyde Addison Elementary, Eaton Elementary, Stoddert Elementary and the Duke Ellington School for the Performing Arts.
The Whole Foods in Georgetown became Washington's first Whole Foods when it arrived in 1996, and has stayed loyal to its slogan "Caring for our community" through events like the 5% Day.
The market is located on the 2200 block of Wisconsin Ave. in Georgetown, and is open every day from 7 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.
