Georgetown Chorale Spring Benefit Concert

! ! ! Unique, not to be missed Concert ! ! !

The Georgetown Chorale's Spring Benefit Concert will be like no other you have ever heard.

In addition to hearing approximately 60 adult voices singing a variety of "Beloved Choruses", many of the pieces with be accompanimied by the local award-winning Youth Steel Band Orchestra (CAFE).

The vibrations and tones of the steel drums blending with the four or more voice parts create an unbelievable musical energy you won't soon forget.  All proceeds from this concert will be contributed to CAFÉ.

Under the direction of Dr. Elaine Rendler-McQueeney, the Georgetown Chorale is a 60 member adult singing group that performs classic choral music with a mix of contemporary pieces, opera choruses, and show tunes.  Their mission is to provide for the musical excellence and education of members, and to give them the opportunity to perform their community service through music.  Over the past 23 years, the Chorale has raised nearly $240,000 for, among others, Capital Hospice, Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, So Others Might Eat (SOME), Mentors, Inc., Martha's Table, Lazarus House, and Refugee Voices.

The Cultural Academy of Excellence is a youth-based Washington, D.C. area program which uses the performing arts as the catalyst to develop the passion and discipline for learning discipline, leadership and academic achievement.
