Save the Date: Georgetown French Market Set for April 25-26

The Georgetown French Market transforms upper Wisconsin Avenue into a French-themed open air market.

One of the most anticipated shopping weekends in Georgetown arrives in April to signal the start of spring. The Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) announced Wednesday that its annual Georgetown French Market will return to upper Wisconsin Avenue on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 in the Book Hill neighborhood.

A seasonal favorite for locals and visitors, The Georgetown French Market transforms Book Hill along upper Wisconsin Avenue between P Street and Reservoir Road into a French-themed open air market with designer goods discounted up to 70 percent from more than 30 local boutiques, antique shops and galleries.

Neighborhood restaurants will also offer specials and French fare, including sweet and savory crepes, grilled merguez sausages and the popular, on-trend macarons. “The Book Hill section of Georgetown is a neighborhood gem, with quaint row houses that are home to over 30 independent, local merchants who come together during this special event to welcome spring in Georgetown,” says Nancy Miyahira, the BID’s marketing director. Family-friendly entertainers, including strolling musicians and a balloon artist will add to the festive atmosphere.
