Georgetown Hosting Fall Style and Culture Event

FAD will take the place of Fashion's Night Out, which is on hiatus across the U.S. this year.

No Fashion's Night Out this year? No worries. Georgetown is hosting its own celebration of style in culture for three days, Oct. 10 through Oct. 12.

"With FNO put on hiatus nationwide this year by Vogue magazine/Conde Nast and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), we wanted to keep the celebration of style alive in Washington, DC with a new fall event in Georgetown," said Nancy Miyahira, marketing director for the Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID), in a statement.

The Georgetown BID will host FAD (Fashion, Art and Design) Oct. 10 through 12 to highlight the style district's man merchants and its creative community.

"Georgetown is the original hub of art/design/fashion in the city and we're showcasing our strong creative community. DC is a rising fashion and design city, and style enthusiasts appreciate the interplay between fashion, art and design - Georgetown's strong merchant mix will showcase that," said Miyahira.

There will be trunk shows, style parties, public art installations, gallery walks, DIY events and more throughout the weekend.

Look for more FAD Georgetown event announcements later this month. Until then check out the BID website for more details.
