Get Out: Patch's Pick-and-Choose Weekend Planner

If you're itching to make some awesome weekend plans, consult our list of best bets before you head out on the town.

It’s Thursday. The weekend is so close you can almost taste it. Downside? You’ve got no idea what to do during your two days of freedom.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We've picked out some of the best events around Arlington and D.C. for your done-work-outta-here time. Is it 5 p.m. on Friday yet?

Where/When: -Davis Performing Arts Center, 37th Street NW & O Street NW, Washington. Saturday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Tennessee Williams may be best known for "The Glass Menagerie" but this won't be your only change to brush up on his body of work. The "Tenn Cent Fest" is running through Sunday. Be sure to check out the event's website for more showtimes and events.

Pricing: Tickets range from $7 to $15.

Where/When: , 2854 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. Saturday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why Go: There's going to be a ton of stuff going on at this event including the 2011 Man and Woman of the Year, the Sweet 16 NCAA games on the big screens and, as the name of the event suggests, a flip cup tournament. There's also a raffle and drink specials. All of it will be benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. If any part of you misses college, you won't want to skip this one.

Pricing: Tickets are $20 to play and $10 to watch. (You get to drink free beer when you play.)

Where/When: Arlington Cinema 'N Drafthouse, 2903 Columbia Pike, Arlington; Friday, wine tasting at 6:15 p.m., movie at 7:20 p.m.

Why Go: There will be a wine tasting - and wine experts to help you sniff out those subtle bouquets (Smokey hardwood? Cherry preserves? Sweaty gym socks?) - and there's a movie! This Friday, the Arlington Cinema 'N Drafthouse, with experts from the Washington Wine Academy, will present "The Black Swan." Natalie Portman won an Academy Award for "Best Actress" in this movie - it's probably worth your attention.

Pricing: Wine is $2 per "taste," or 6 "tastes" for $10. Movie tickets are $5.50 - a steal!

Where/When: Verizon Center, 601 F St. NW, Washington. Shows run Thursday through Sunday.

Why Go: Everyone has fond memories of going to the circus as a child - and children of all ages will surely "oooh" and "ahhh" during "The Greatest Show on Earth."

Pricing: Ticket prices range from $14 to over $100.

Where/When: , 3265 M St. NW, Georgetown. Sunday, noon.

Why Go: According to the event listing, "Every Sunday, lululemon offers free yoga classes, open to all levels of experience. No need to bring your own mat, they'll provide you with one. The classes are lead by a different volunteer teacher each month. No need to RSVP, just show up and get your zen on!"

Pricing: Free.
