Last Chance: Northern Lights Exhibit at Kennedy Center

Time is running out to see the light design on the Kennedy Center façade, part of the Nordic Cool 2013 Exhibition.

Your time to experience the Northern Lights right here in Georgetown is running out. The Nordic Cool 2013 exhibit at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts runs through March 17.

Danish lighting designer Jesper Kongshaug has recreated the effect of the Northern Lights in an exhibit that uses the four sides of the Kennedy Center's façade.

Swirling light in blue, purple, green and shades between can be seen projected on  the Kennedy Center each night from 5:30 until 11 p.m.

The Kennedy Center commissioned this installation for Nordic Cool 2013.

Nordic cool is a "month-long international festival of theater, dance, music, visual arts, literature, design, cuisine, and film to highlight the diverse cultures of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden as well as the territories of Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and Áland Islands," according to the event website.
