Ward 3 Councilmember Mary M. Cheh took her annual tour of Ward 3 schools this week in an effort to ensure the buildings are in good condition for the first day of school on Aug. 26. She visited Stoddert Elementary in Glover Park Thursday.
"This school is ready," said Cheh about Stoddert after a satisfactory tour of the school through the building with new principal Donald Bryant.
She tours the buildings often with principals in tow, switching lights on and off, flushing toilets and making lists of items that need repair. Her staff members compile a list of issues and help coordinate with the Department of General Services and other agencies to address any problems prior to the start of school.
