Expect Move-in Traffic from Georgetown Students Friday, Saturday

Campus police will direct traffic on portions of 37th Street and Prospect Street that are near the campus

Georgetown University students return to the Hilltop this weekend, Aug. 24 and Aug. 25. New student orientationbegins Saturday, Aug. 24.

"We expect a lot of move-in traffic coming into Georgetown on Friday and Saturday. This traffic may impact roads leading to and from the campus," said University Spokesperson Rachel Pugh.

The Georgetown University Police Department (GUPD) will be doing its part to control the chaos vans full of wide-eyed freshmen and their teary-eyed parents. GUPD will be directing traffic on 37th Street and Prospect Street near the campus both days.

Additionally, Pugh says there will likely be increased traffic both before and after New Student Convocation, which will be taking place at noon Sunday, Aug. 25.
