Frye Shoe Company Coming to Georgetown

The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the U.S.

If a new permit filed with the DC government is any indication, The Frye Company has plans to come to 1066 Wisconsin Ave. NW in Georgetown.

Italian restaurant Papa-Razzi called 1064-1066 Wisconsin Ave. NW home until it closed unexpectedly in May.

The Frye Company appears on the Old Georgetown Board Jan. 3 agenda, requesting concept review of "alterations to storefront, sign scheme for 'The Frye Company'."

According to several media reports, a Boston flagship store is planned for Spring 2013 on Newbury Street in the Back Bay area.

Patch has reached out to Frye for comment and will provide additional details as they become available.
