Fuel Pilates Moving to O Street

Fuel Pilates will close its Wisconsin Avenue location just before the Memorial Day weekend and will reopen at 3214 O Street on June 1.

needed some room to stretch out, so the studio is moving from its home at 1081 Wisconsin Ave. to a larger space at 3214 O St.

Just a year after opening in Georgetown, Fuel has such demand for classes and long waiting lists that the studio needed more space than its current 1,000-square-foot studio could offer.

The last class at the Wisconsin Avenue location will be at 7 a.m. May 27. The studio will close for the Memorial Day weekend.

On June 1, Fuel will reopen at its new location with some 2,000 square feet of space.

Owner Kelly Griffith said constant wait lists will be a thing of the past.

"Now, if you try to sign up on a Sunday for the following week there are classes you won't get into," explained Griffith.

The new space can accommodate more people and more classes.

Not to worry, the classes won't be "crazy large, it’ll still be 20 or fewer in the class," Griffith said. A bar class currently can only fit 12.

The additional space also means Fuel can offer group Reformer classes now that there will be room for the necessary apparatus.

For the grand opening weekend, June 4-5, the O Street studio will offer all classes for free, a demonstration on the Reformer equipment and a few prizes as well.
