Georgetown Entrepreneur Sponsors Truckeroo in Southeast

Bo Blair known locally for his Wisconsin Avenue business, Smithpoint, is a driving force behind this summer's monthly food truck festival near the National's Ballpark.

Georgetown is known for its shopping, cupcakes and restaurants, but Georgetowners have been missing out on the latest culinary trend: food trucks. That hasn't stopped Georgetown entrepreneur and owner, Bo Blair, from adding some Georgetown flair to the food truck trend.

Friday, June 3 marks the first Truckeroo event of the summer. The free monthly festival runs from June to October and takes place in Das Bullpen, a biergarten-esque venue on the other M Street in Southeast across from the Navy Yard Metro. Das Bullpen is one of a growing number of ventures owned by Blair's Georgetown Events company.

Some 20 food trucks ring the dressed up parking lot in Southeast D.C. from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. At noon today lines for the food trucks snaked around the parking lot for the more popular trucks. Luckily the event features live music and cornhole games to make the lines worth it and you get to enjoy your food at picnic tables, instead of your office desk.
