Georgetown Readies for Inauguration with Pop-up Salon

Hu's Wear hosted a soiree last week to kick off the inauguration ball and party season.

Hu's Wear of M Street is hosting a pop-up inauguration salon that features gowns designer and vintage gowns and accessories from names like Valentino, Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel.

Though D.C. was the "the focus of the world" Nov. 6, Marlene Hu Aldaba, owner of Hu’s Shoes and Hu’s Wear,  said in a press release, "We’re just as excited about what follows the election." 

"Post election parties and the inauguration are a time for D.C. women to shine," said Hu Aldaba in a press release..

Hu's wear is partnering with Decades, a Hollywood boutique, to pair vintage offerings with new designer items.

Additionally, the window display features and was inspired by Holywood Filmmaker David Lynch's custom-designed Dom Perignon bottle.

The three-week pop-up shop runs through Nov. 30.

The $149.99 custom Dom Perignon bottles are available at area liquor stores, including Pearson's (2436 Wisconsin Ave. NW) and Schneider's of Capitol Hill (300 Massachusetts Ave. NE).
