Goodbye Georgetown, Hello... Ballston?

Fornash leaves the Shops at Georgetown Park and moves to the Ballston Common Mall.

Fornash, which received notice in September 2011 to vacate the Shops at Georgetown Park, is leaving Georgetown this weekend. The boutique will move to the Ballston Common Mall and plans to re-open in mid-March.

Stephanie Fornash Kennedy, owner of Fornash, was one of the self-proclaimed "Georgetown Angels", who set out to revamp the image of the mall. But as Vornado continues to queitly prep the space for an unknown anchor tenant, all three of the "angels" are leaving.

Fornash will be hosting a Goodbye Soiree on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in their Georgetown store on the second level of the mall. For the Fornash faithful there will be sales of 60 percent off, cupcakes and cocktails. To entice Georgetowners to come out to Arlington, there will also be a raffle to win a $100 gift card to Fornash’s new location.

Despite the mandatory move, the Fornash team is staying positive on Facebook, "We are all sad to leave our home of 10 years but are ecstatic for our new space (hint hint…its blue and orange and awesomely chic)."
