Katherine and Sophie of Georgetown Cupcake Visit Bethesda Row

Georgetown's cupcake ladies will participate in Bethesda's Writers on the Row.

Today bookworms and TV junkies will have the chance to meet Katherine Kallinis Berman & Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne, owners of Georgetown Cupcake and stars of TLC’s "DC Cupcakes." The two started their first shop in Georgetown and have since rocketed to stardom.

Writers on the Row kicked off Thursday in Bethesda, bringing bookworms face-to-face with favorite authors.

The event continues today, combining author readings, book signings and deal specials to businesses along Bethesda Row.

The cupcake mavens will present their new book and serve up their favorite cupcake recipes from 1 to 3 p.m. on Bethesda Lane. Following the cupcake-themed readings, Maz Rauber and Amy Reingold, authors under the pen name Ella Monroe of the popular teen novel “Capital Girls,” will host a meet-and-greet from 3 to 5 p.m. on Bethesda Lane.

Today’s store and drink specials include a free cupcake from Georgetown Cupcake with the purchase of a book from Writers on the Row, and 20 percent off heels and free gift with purchase of $50 or more at Sassanova. Mon Ami Gabi will serve up brunch specials, while Redwood and Café Deluxe will serve drink specials into the evening.
