Look into Busy Georgetown Hairstyling Labor Day Weekend

Georgetown Hairstyling, the small barber shop at 1329 35th St., NW across from Saxby's, NW, was filled with returning Georgetown students and neighbors looking for a quick trim before the Labor Day weekend Friday.

Owner Ed Lara even brought his dad, former owner Rigo Landa, out of retirement for the day to help keep the steady flow of customers manageable Friday afternoon.

Lara gave Patch a good piece of advice if you want to get a cut without an appointment: show up on the 15 and 45 of any hour. Appointments are made for the hour and half hour.

Georgetown Hairstyling, in the neighborhood since 1913, caters exclusively to men and is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and is closed Sundays.
