Microsoft's Publicyte Launches with Party in Georgetown

Publicyte, a digital magazine, hosted a launch party at Georgetown's L2 Tuesday.

Publicyte is a "Microsoft digital magazine about the people, places, and technologies driving civic innovation in America" explains editor-in-chief, Dr. Mark Drapeau in an email. The online publication celebrated its launch officially Tuesday evening at Georgetown's .

Publicyte "started as a concept when our new Office of Civic Innovation (of which I'm a member) needed a presence and voice online, went through a beta phase, and evolved into the final version you see today," said Drapeau.

The cocktail-heavy gathering was held to raise awareness about the site and to show off a few new inventions. The event featured servers with scannable Tags on their shirts and stations where guests could test out the new Microsoft Kinect system.
