New Georgetown Music Venue Plans September Opening

Gypsy Sally's, a new live music venue in Georgetown, plans to open at 3401 K St., NW in September. 

"Gypsy Sally's is an Americana live music venue, restaurant and bar opening in September," a sign posted outside of the venue Monday morning announced.

Gypsy Sally’s signed a voluntary agreement with the Georgetown Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) in December to allow the music venue to sell alcohol. Permits available online indicate there will be up to 171 seats and the maximum occupancy will be 284.

During an October meeting with the ANC, the owner said he planned to offer a variety of acoustic rock, blues, country, folk and blue grass, as well as musician workshops for guitar, mandolin and banjo, among others.

The venue is located above the recently opened Malmaison, a French restaurant, bar and event space.
