No Table Dancing (Yet) if JP's Opens Friday

The strip club on Wisconsin Avenue sought to add VIP areas and up-close nude dancing.

The strip club set to re-open under new ownership in Glover Park has applied to allow nude dancing on both table tops and in private alcoves, but the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board decided Wednesday that the owners will have to apply for a separate review for such activity, reports Hyper Local Glover Park.

There will still be dancing on two main stages should the club open as planned Friday.

Neighborhood groups opposed the private dancing suggesting there could be illegal behavior and that it might attract undesirable customers to the increasingly child-friendly neighborhood north of Georgetown.

But JP's representative Paul Kadlick told the Washington Post that they would apply for the additional permissions and the private VIP areas would become a reality, as they are at other similar institutions in the District.

“They’re going to be allowed here, or they are going to be shut down in other places in the city,” he told the Post.
