ShopHouse Now Open in Georgetown

The Southeast Asian Kitchen is now open at 2805 M St., NW in Georgetown.

ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen, the brain child of Chipotle's founders, opened its Georgetown restaurant Monday. The restaurant at 2805 M St. NW is the company' third location.

ShopHouse opened its first location in Dupont in 2011, since then they added a spot in California and now Georgetown joins the ranks. ShopHouse takes over the space formerly home to Furin's

Much like Chiptole, customers pick and choose ingredients inspired by cuisine from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore to create a dish that is customized to their tastes, according to a press release.

You can select jasmine rice, brown rice, chilled rice noodles or salad, add a protein, whether its chicken or tofu or another offering, toss in some veg, add a sauce and you've got lunch. Or dinner.

“Anyone who has traveled throughout Southeast Asia can tell you that food there is served very fast, but is also full of flavor, nutritious, and affordable,” Tim Wildin, director of concept development at Chipotle, said in a press release. “In creating ShopHouse, we wanted to remain true to these characteristics.”

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
