Slate Wine Bar Opens in Glover Park

The new restaurant opened Friday afternoon at 2404 Wisconsin Ave., NW.

Slate Wine Bar is open for businessat 2404 Wisconsin Ave., NW. The newest addition to Glover Park welcomed its first customers Friday afternoon.

“The Slate team has been working tirelessly to transform this space into a welcoming and comfortable wine bar and restaurant. We are excited to share what we have worked so hard to create and to add to the diversity of Glover Park’s dining options,” said Slate Wine Bar Owner and Wine Director, Elizabeth Bankes, in a press release.

Slate features a seasonally-changing bistro menu and a hand-picked wine list. Bankes and Bar Manager Noah Naft focused on "smaller production wines from family-owned estates that practice sustainable or organic farming," according to the release.

The menu offers everything from cheese plates to steak frites, chock full of fresh, local ingredients.

The wine bar will also offer featured flights and pairing advice to curious and savvy customers alike.

In addition to great menus and dining experience, Slate plans to offer excursions, events and classes. The first event is planned for Sept. 11 and features Copain Winery from California.
