Georgetown Sprinkles Cupcakes Searches For DC's Favorite Teacher

Does your child just love his or her teacher? They can win up to $500 in cupcakes and office supplies for that teacher by telling Sprinkles Cupcakes in Georgetown just what makes that person the best. 

The contest, for children in grades K-8, started on Tuesday and will run until Feb. 10. 

Sprinkles asks students from D.C., Virginia and Maryland to write an essay of 250 words or less, telling them about their favorite teachers. The shop will pick the top three teachers and then hold a vote for the winner on its Facebook page.  

“Education is such an important part of our community,” said Candace Nelson, founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes, in a news release. “This is our way of reaching out and saluting the teachers that give so much of themselves, and provide so much to the children in our area."

Submission forms will be handed out at the Georgetown Shop at 3015 M St. NW and can also be found on the Facebook page. Participants can turn in the essays at the store or mail them to dc@sprinkles.com.
