Sweetgreen Officially Open in Glover Park

For weeks the shop has looked to be open, but now it's official.

Sweetgreen, a local chain of salad and yogurt shops, officially opened in Glover Park last Friday.

The company website now lists 2200 Wisconsin Ave. NW among its locations and a photo on the homepage announces its arrival.

The store has appeared to be open for several weeks with what looked like staff trainings and perhaps even diners getting sneak peeks.

The company, started by Georgetown University classmates, opened its first location Aug. 1, 2007 at 3333 M St. NW in Georgetown.

Nicolas Jammet, Jonathan Neman, and Nathaniel Ru were still students at Georgetown University when they came up with their winning business concept.

The Glover Park location takes over the space formerly occupied by Body Smith. It's hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
