Tony & Joe's and Nick's Riverside Grill are back in business and hiring. The two restaurants were the victim of the April 2011 flood.
Their kitchens in shambles, the businesses relied on an outdoor grill and good weather to survive with a skeleton crew.
“What I’m most proud of was that we were able to support 40 of our core employees despite not being open for 16 months,” Nick Cibel told The Georgetown Dish.
Now with completely redesigned interiors, the family-owned businesses need to bring on more staff.
They posted recently on craigslist and on Thursday on their Facebook page:
"If you have a minimum of 1 year continuous experience of high volume restaurant sales and hospitality is your passion, apply in person Monday thru Sunday between 10:30a.m. and 4 p.m. We are located at 3000 K St., N.W., Washington D.C. 20007"
Last August, that though the flood was "heartbreaking" to his family and their employees, they tried to look at it as “an opportunity to start it new.” At long last they are doing just that.
