Unum to Replace Medocino Grille

Phillip Blane, the former Equinox sous chef, will open his own restaurant venture at 2917 M St.

A year after , a new restaurant will rise from its ashes and once again fill the space at 2917 M Street with new American cuisine. Phillip Blane, former sous chef at Equinox, and his wife Laura Schiller, the chief of staff to Sen. Barbara Boxer, will soon open their new venture, Unum, in Georgetown, according to the Huffington Post.

A news release about the menu details items diners might have previously found during the restaurant's last incarnation: items like quail, smoked duck breast with Swiss chard, house-made gnocchi and more. The 12-seat bar will offer more casual fare, like mac-and-cheese, tater tots and burgers.

Unum will also offer more than a dozen wines by the glass, in addition to a 60 + bottle list, and a rotating selection of craft beer and cocktails.

Unum will also offer brunch, a welcome addition certainly to those neighbors still smarting from .
