What's Open in Georgetown After Sandy?

Patch contacted Georgetown and Glover Park businesses to see if they would be open Tuesday, Oct. 30.

If you are getting cabin fever and feel like venturing out this afternoon, here is alist of places that will be open for business Tuesday, Oct. 30:

-Safeway at 1855 Wisconsin Ave., NW is open.

-Whole Foods Market at 2323 Wisconsin Ave., NW is open as of 11 a.m. Tuesday.

-Glover Park Ace Hardware at 2251 Wisconsin Ave., NW did not answer its phone. A recorded voice said the store closed at 2 p.m. on Monday and would reevaluate to consider opening on Tuesday morning. 

-Washington Harbour at 3000–3020 K Street. NW Allowed tenants and residents access to buildings, but businesses were closed Tuesday.*

-Sequoia at 3000 K Street, NW was closed Tuesday, but said it experienced no damage.

-Tony & Joe’s Seafood Place at 3000 K Street, NW was closed Tuesday and said the restaurant has had minor water leakage. The restaurant hopes to be open this weekend. 

-Patch called all Starbucks Coffee shops before 10 a.m. in the Georgetown area and there was no reply.

*Editor's Note: This article originally reported the Washington Harbour would close at 2 p.m. Tuesday due to potential flooding of the Potomac River, but Harbour management later decided to allow tenants and residents access when flooding was not as bad as expected.
